Some years ago in Spain I was walking along a beach. It was the morning after a bad storm when I found a damaged beach capstan.                                                                  The frame work of the capstan had gone leaving the central cork oak column, cable and planking. The fishermen put planking around the centre column when it gets worn by the cable .                                                           When the first lockdown happened, for some reason the dead minion like image kept coming to mind. These mixed media doodles are loosely based around that image. .
